When a man expects equal treatment from peers and society and to be seen as a person rather than a walking set of genitalia hes called a man, when a woman expects the same shes called a ‘feminist’ with a laugh or a sneer. Fine. I am that. Because I expect that. But the fact that those desires have a term if a woman holds them, in itself, reveals a current disparity between the sexes. I call those expectations from society ‘basic human rights’ and and the reason for this expectation from my peers- ‘self respect’. Say THAT with a sneer.
